Medical Tourist Visas for Foreigners Seeking Medical Procedures in the Philippines

The plan of the Bureau of Immigration to issue medical tourist visas to foreigners is indeed a very welcome news.

The medical tourist visas, to be introduced this year, will allow foreigners to stay in the country for six months without having to apply for extensions as regular tourists are required to do, according to the Bureau of Immigration.

Medical tourism can really help our tourism sector and the Philippines in general. And it is about time that Filipinos in medical profession shine in our own backyard.

The plan can definitely increase the number of foreign tourists that will visit the country. I'm sure aside from the medical procedures that they will seek, these medical tourists would also be interested in a little r & r (rest and relaxation) for the duration of their medical tourist visa. Of which, the Philippines have a lot to offer.
